Glossier You Review

Glossier

This month, Glossier launched in the UK and I couldn’t be more excited. Glossier was founded by Emily Weiss in 2014, she started as a fashion assistant and then found her success in her blog called Into The Gloss. Glossier’s products are totally vegan, they have a minimalistic approach to beauty and promote the “no makeup-makeup” look.

Glossier You

Glossier You is Glossier’s first fragrance, which is why I was eager to get my hands on it. I was fascinated by the uniqueness of it. Glossier call it your own skin smell enhancer rather than a perfume. The main ingredient is you, so this fragrance should smell different on everybody.

The Bottle

The Glossier You bottle was beautifully designed by Laura Yeh. Yeh cast and carved plaster moulds by hand to get the perfect form. It’s simplistic, delicious and the trademark colour of the lid is sublime.

The Scent

Within minutes of spraying, it had absorbed into my skin and the scent softened dramatically. For me, the smell is very musky and sweet. Emily Weiss said in an interview with Vogue “I want it to smell like your boyfriend’s neck after he has been wearing cologne for eight hours”. She describes it as “a subtle scent with equal parts powder and musk and the zing of fresh-cut iris”.

New Favourite?

I will be using Glossier you as my daytime scent. It’s subtle and there’s something very sweet and nostalgic about it. I love how personal it is to me and I find it a little bit sexy and sensual that it’s my own skin scent, enhanced.

I’m ecstatic Glossier has launched in the UK and I look forward to using more Glossier products.
