This week I’m using Milani Amore Matte lip cream in the colour Precious. It smells lovely and is available in many other shades. This creamy matte lipstick dries as an extreme matte finish and once dried, it does not transfer. When using such matte finishes I always recommend exfoliating your lips before hand to get a smooth finish. Overall this is a good matte lipstick, it is thicker and creamier than most liquid matte lipsticks which means its quite easy to get a neat finish. The pigment is intense and at only £9 what’s not to love!
So, in the past I have used Barry M Matte Me Up as my Lipstick Of The Week and loved it. I adore Barry M because their products are vegan, cruelty-free and affordable. This week I am using Barry M Gloss Me Up in the colour Vibe. It comes in 3 other colours called PDA, Sugar and Peekaboo. As much as I do like a matte lipstick, to create this summery sultry look, it had to be a gloss that would complete it. Barry M Gloss Me up pigment is beautiful, smells good enough to eat, has added Vitamin E and for only £4.99! This lip gloss can be used daily but also perfect for giving your lips a sexy lustrous pout for that night out. Barry M does it again!
My lipstick of the week is Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. You may have come across Revlon in drug stores such as Boots and Superdrug. It is known for being a great budget cosmetics brand. I’m using the colour HD Embrace. This comes in 12 great colours and also a metallic range. Firstly this packaging is lovely. It’s not your typical liquid lipstick bottle shape, and reminds me of a pebble. This matte lipstick is unique in that it is 100% wax free, the gel formula means that you won’t get the most matte look, but it is ideal for those who have dry or crack prone lips. I find that with a lot of cheaper brands, they cut back on things like fragrance. However Revlon does not disappoint as this lipstick has a gorgeous fragrance of creamy mango and whipped vanilla. This lipstick has a great plush applicator which means its easy to apply (no need for lip liner) and you get a beautiful pigmented finish. Sometimes you don’t need to spend a fortune of a lipstick to get a good one, I really recommend this one girls!
Mac Lipglass comes in 9 gorgeous shades. I’m using Spite, a muted plum-taupe brown. This dense and high gloss lipstick is perfect for creating a summery sultry look. To create this ultra high gloss, I applied three layers and I love how shiny it looks once it settles on my lips. I am amazed that Mac Lipglass is only £10, and I am so looking forward to trying more colours of this range.
I’m using Stila Stay all day liquid lipstick in the colour Bacca. This lightweight and vitamin infused lipstick provides full coverage and moisture to your lips. This range comes in 25 gorgeous colours to suit any skin tone or occasion. Unlike some liquid matte lipsticks on the market, this lipstick is not sticky, tacky and does not crack. This lipstick is simple to apply and because of the intense pigment, it does not require a lip liner. If you’re looking for a reliable matte lipstick that will give you kissable looking lips, Stila stay all day will give you a 6 hours perfect pout.
Benefit Punch Pop is all about fun. I am using Benefit Punch Pop in the colour Bubble gum. It comes in 6 other shades called Cherry, Mango, Strawberry, Watermelon, Sugar cookie and Pink Berry. The names of these colours speak for itself. It’s so summery and perfect for this sizzling bank holiday weather. This gloss contains vitamin E, known to soften lips and gives your pout a plush smooth finish. With the colours looking so juicy, I’m a little disappointed that this gloss hasn’t got a scent to match with it’s names. In fact it’s totally odourless, which may appeal to someone who is sensitive to scents and perfumes. Overall I really like this gloss as an every day gloss to go.
I’m using FENTY Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte lipstick in the colour Shawty. This matte lipstick is creamier than most matte lipsticks I have tried, and is gloriously pigmented. The finish is not extremely matte, but I love that it is subtle. As you can see from the video, one swipe gives you full and intense coverage. No lip liner needed! Like other Fenty products, the packaging is distinctive and gorgeous. This ultra slim lipstick is available in 14 bold and beautiful colours designed to suit all skin tones. At £16 a pop, I think it’s definitely worth the buy and will definitely be adding more colour to my collection.
This HAX 2-Tone Rose Gold Lip Kit is available at ASOS.com. Included in this kit is a lip liner, a liquid lipstick, a pot of gold pigment, a brush and all for only £14.99! The colours in this kit are seriously cute and the lipstick smells amazing. It is also available in other colours. Instructions are included in this kit making it very simple to create a professional looking lip statement. With festival season coming up, this two tone lip is just what you need to make you stand out from the crowd.
Revolution London is a cruelty free brand with the drugstore price tag. This week I am using Revolution’s Unicorn Dream Lip Kit. With a metallic purple lip liner and a holographic lip gloss, this lip kit is interesting to say the least. It’s not the most outrageous lipstick I’ve tried as it is surprisingly subtle. To achieve this look, I layered the lip liner on the edges and shaded in the outer parts of my lips. Then I blended it in using the holographic lip gloss. Okay, this isn’t the best quality lipstick I have encountered, but for £6.00 you can’t go wrong, especially if you’re feeling brave and want to try new colours.
I fell in love with FENTY Stunna Lip Paint right from the get go, from the packaging to the colour, everything about this lip paint screams sexy. I am using the colour Uncensored. It is the perfect red, and suits any skin tone. The shape of the wand means you can get ultra precision and just one stroke contains an insane amount of pigment. Once dry, you get a soft matte finish and it lasts 12 hours!! I am absolutely in love with this cruelty-free liquid lipstick, more colours please Riri!
