This by far has got to be the most fascinating lipstick I have tried. Too Faced La Crème Mystical Lipstick is vegan and cruelty free and the reason why it is called La Crème Mystical Lipstick is because it changes colour depending on your body temperature. Yes, I said it, it changes colour!! I’m using this in the colour Unicorn Tears. It is available in Mermaid tears, Fairy Tears and Angel tears. It is infused with white lotus flower extract and smells great. This iridescent colour on its own is very unusual and a big statement, it would also give any lipstick a beautiful iridescent sheen.
Okay, I admit it, I was instantly attracted to Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour’In because of the packaging. But what I really loved was the amount of colours this lipstick is available in. I decided to be brave and go for a bright colour I normally wouldn’t try called Yuccie. It’s a beautiful bright berry purple and goes gorgeously with the purples in my Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eye shadow palette. With the first application it gives a lovely translucent colour. This lipstick was designed to be buildable, so you can get the intensity you desire. One thing I love is that it smells like roses and is absolutely divine. This comes as no surprise to me as Guerlain is one of the oldest perfume houses in the world. This lipstick is also pleasantly sweet to taste, not that I advise to eat it but it just shows the thought that went into designing this weightless and bare-lipped feel formula. I love love love this lipstick!
My Lipstick Of The Week is Ciaté London, Liquid Chrome Metallic Lip Gloss, colour Luna. I’ve always known Ciaté London for their cute nail polishes, but they actually sell many products from lip glosses to eye shadow palettes and they are cruelty free. Their prices are very reasonable and this lip gloss is beautiful. Chrome lip glosses are great for creating fuller lips and also making a statement. This range comes in six gorgeous colours and retails at £15. This colour is the perfect rose gold on its own and can be used as a topper too!
I am loving this colour!! It’s the perfect vampire shade. However I had to be generous, applying on a few layers to achieve the full potential of this lipstick. Retailing at £26, it is a little on the high end of lipstick prices. Yes, the packaging is slick, the lid is magnetic and snaps on in a very sophisticated way. But does this warrant spending £26? The sensible part of me says no, but the naughty side of me says this colour is banging. It’s a good lipstick, it is moisturising and goes on very silky giving your lips a beautiful shine. NARS claims that this lipstick gives a full coverage in a single stroke, but I disagree with this claim as I had to apply quite a few layers to get full coverage. Although I like this lipstick, I’m not in a rush to buy more shades from this range as I feel that there isn’t anything majorly special about it that makes it stand out from other lipsticks.
This matte lipstick comes in many colours and is in the style of a pen. It twists like a traditional lipstick but looks like a fat lip liner. It is creamy and very pigmented. Although it glides on easily, it is hard to get precision as the tip of the lipstick is big and rounded. I recommend using a lip brush to get perfect edges.
I chose the colour Fire. It is a proper red, red. This colour is definitely a statement because it is so bold and would give any monotone outfit a pop of colour. Unlike liquid matte lipsticks, you have lots of time to get it perfect as it doesn’t dry like the way liquid lipsticks do.
I haven’t used any lipsticks in this style before so I can’t compare, but I love the quality and the colour. The pigment and coverage is great, thumbs up from me!
This lusciously silky matte liquid lipstick comes in many beautiful colours. The quality compares to other popular matte liquid lipsticks like Huda Beauty’s. The 7ml bottle will go a long way as the pigment is so good that you won’t even have to use lip liner!
This matte liquid lipstick doesn’t give you that horrible sticky, patchy feeling like you get with some of the cheaper liquid matte lipsticks on the market, nor does it look dodgy and wrinkly when you top it up. It smells amazing and glides on effortlessly, as you can see from the video.
At £25, this lipstick is on the expensive side. But it is luxurious and will last all night (believe me, it lasted through a three course dinner and drinks!). I am a fan, and I will probably be adding more colours to my collection. I hope you enjoyed reading my Lipstick Of The Week. Please read my blog every Monday to see what lipstick I will be trying next.
